The photo that opened the door
I wasn’t looking for anything in the sky. I was looking for another way to live. This is the experience that gave rise to Ufology in Practice.
Account my own experience, told by me
In 2013, I wasn’t on any spiritual search, and I had no clear sense of purpose. I lived for work and for material things. Then I had a severe burnout, with panic attacks. That’s when I opened up to new experiences, without really knowing what to expect.
Some friends took me to a retreat. In the meditations, I went through things that stayed with me: deep relaxation, a very strong feeling of connection, little lights flickering behind my closed eyes. Experiences that really move you. I started meditating often so I could keep feeling that.
The retreat was led by a teacher, Laércio Fonseca. Only on the second retreat did I find out that his central theme was esoteric ufology.
It happened on that second retreat, at the farm in São Tomé das Letras. I had been meditating a lot for a month. In one of the meditations, with my eyes closed, I saw the face of a gray alien, a Grey. He played with me and smiled a lot. It was fun, and it left me with a really good emotional impact.
Later, after dark, I was with my friends taking photos on the stone ground of the farm. A girl mentioned that in places like this, orbs of light sometimes show up in night photos. We took several.
In one of them, I saw the face I had seen in the meditation shortly before.
That left a deep mark on me and opened me up to the study of esoteric ufology.
Why I’m telling this
What changed the way I see life was a moment of connection. I was looking for something to happen that would show me another way of seeing things, and it came.
Ufology in Practice was born to open that door: the chance for each person to live their own experience, whether it’s a sighting, a feeling of connection or a photo that makes you wonder. Without deciding what will happen and without telling anyone what to believe. Esoteric ufology, where I first came across the subject, is one of the possible readings. Here it sits side by side with the others.
The photo
Straight out of the camera, and step by step.
Nothing was painted in or erased. Each step only changes brightness, contrast or sharpness, and the markings were drawn on top. Look with your own eyes.

No editing at all. Almost everything is dark: the flash only lit the stone ground near us.

With contrast
You can see the light stone ground, the band of the wall and, in the background, the dark of the slope and the garden trees. The enhancement also boosts the colored grain that is common in night photos.
The placeRecord
Another night photo with flash, from the same spot: the stone ground of the farm’s parking area, the low stone wall and, behind it, the garden trees. It helps make sense of what shows up in the contrast photo.

How I see the faceAccount
The area enlarged in color, then only the light with smoothing and, last, the same image with what I see drawn on top: the broad, slightly tilted head, the two large slanted eyes and, below, the line of the collar, just under the neck. The photo under the drawing doesn’t change. I didn’t mark a mouth or a nose: I don’t think they’re clear in the photo.

The face, illustratedIllustration
Made with artificial intelligence from my marking: the prompt said to follow the head, the eyes and the collar I drew, with no mouth or nose, and then erase the lines. That’s why the face sits exactly where I marked it.
To me, these illustrations show very well the face I saw in the meditation, shortly before the photo.
They are not a record, and they don’t replace the original photo.
Readings
And you, what do you see?
ReadingPsychological
In psychology, pareidolia is the tendency to see faces and familiar shapes in random patterns, like clouds, stains or the grain of a dark photo.
For me, what matters is the sequence: the meditation, the smiling face, the good feeling and, right after, the photo. I’m not asking you to see what I saw. I’m asking you to open up to the possibility of living your own experience.
Second account · around 2017 · coffee field near Franca, São Paulo state
An orange light in the coffee field
Account my own experience, told by me
After that night, I got more and more interested in ufology. I went deep into the studies and, above all, into the practice of meditation. It was there, and not in the photo, that I found the strongest connection.
What I went through in the meditation, before the photo, was much bigger in emotional impact and in connection. I was trying to repeat that, not to see a new phenomenon. Even so, it came.
The night invites that connection: with the sky, with the universe and the infinite possibilities it holds, and with the nature around you, which at night settles into deep calm and deep peace. That’s why, besides meditating, I started a group practice known as a UFO skywatch: a group that spends the night outdoors, watching the sky.
Around 2017, if I remember right, I took a group to a coffee field near Franca, in rural São Paulo state. We were in a pickup truck, still on our way to the skywatch spot, when everyone in the truck saw the same thing.
An orange orb, motionless, floating under a tree on the left, next to the coffee field.
We kept driving toward it. As we got closer, it moved, went into the coffee field and disappeared. Nobody took a photo.
It was a sighting that didn’t happen in the sky, but very close to us. To this day, we can’t explain it.
Here’s something to think about: a group skywatch isn’t only for seeing a phenomenon. The bigger point is to connect with the nature around you, with the sky, with the stars and with the infinite possibilities they hold.

On the left, the coffee field in a real photo, with no changes at all. On the right, the same photo with the orange orb placed on top, where we saw it: under the biggest tree, at mid-height, next to the coffee field. The place is a record. The orb is an illustration: nobody photographed what we saw.
Lights near the ground
Low spheres of light, in fields and valleys, show up in accounts from all over the world, from Hessdalen, in Norway, to Marfa, in Texas. Some already have an explanation; others are still being studied. See the cases and each tradition’s reading in the catalog.
Have you lived through something like this too?
A light, a dream, a meditation, a photo. Tell it your way. You choose whether your account can be published and whether it goes out with your name.
He created Ufology in Practice. Since 2013, when a meditation and a night photo changed the way he sees life, he has studied ufology, meditated and taken groups on UFO skywatches on clear nights.
Here, he tells his own experiences and makes room for other people’s, with the many readings side by side.
My experiences are just a tiny grain of sand next to the sheer number of recorded sightings. And not only by people on their own: there are cases where whole groups, sometimes whole cities, saw the same thing at the same time.
We’ve gathered the best-known ones, with the witnesses, the timeline, what was investigated and the many readings side by side.
